A Pressure group in Adamawa State has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term.

Mr. Buhari is currently in the United Kingdom on a medical vacation. It is not clear how long he will still be there. On Wednesday, he received National Assembly leaders.

Mr. Buhari left Nigeria on January 19 for a medical vacation in London. He promised to return on February 5 and resume work the next day on February 6.

But on February 5, he wrote to the National Assembly, saying he would have to stay back in London for some time based on the advice of his doctors. He had more tests to do, he said.

Mr. Buhari did not say when he would return. The Nigerian constitution does not give time limit to the President to stay away from the country or lose power.

On Wednesday, a pressure group under the banner of Buhari/Osinbajo Again (BOA) endorsed Mr. Buhari for a second term.

The group expressed satisfaction with the performance of the APC government at the Federal level in the war against insurgency and corruption.

According to TVC News, the group said the recent conversation between President Donald Trump of America and President Muhammadu Busari is a good omen and that The Nigerian leader should be encouraged to re-contest in 2019.

BOA made its stand known in Yola, where it endorsed the continuation of the present government in 2019 and offered special prayers for Buhari and his deputy.

The group which visited the Adamawa state APC secretariat relayed its mission to the party’s executive council.

Adamawa state Chairman of APC, Alh.Ibrahim Bilali who spoke in Hausa said he supports the continuation in office of Buhari and Osinbajo as well as Adamawa State Governor Jubrilla Muhammed Bindow beyond 2019.

Some of the party chieftains described the endorsement as a welcome idea.

Political pundits say this is good news for Governor Bindow, the Buhari/Osinbajo administration and bad news for their rivals.
